Amazing day spend experiencing Linocut technique, main steps here!
The first step was to find a model. Then, a drawing of the model was made in a transparent paper. After the drawing was finish, the printing step took place. It consists to transfer the drawing in the linocut, by hand. As the linocut is dark, a white pencil was used to highlight the freshly transferred draw. Next step was to sculpt the linocut according to the draw shape. The point was to take off the opposite areas of the “shades”, just like a photographic film. Once the sculpting was finish, the paint was applied on the linocut and printed into the paper. Different colors can be used and several colors can be applied in order to create color gradients for example. A special thanks to the artist that give this amazing art class, Simon Kroug.
